Glenan Lodge Guest House - Glenan Lodge is a traditional country house with private fishing in a village location just 15 miles south of Inverness and 15 miles north of Aviemore on the main A9. We are fully non-smoking. We have a comfortable guest lounge with video, DVD and games, a homely dining room and licenced bar. Home cooked evening meals are available by request. We even have visiting red squirrels. Glenan Lodge is ideally situated for walking, fishing, cycling, bird-watching, shooting or just touring the Highlands. There are also many excellent golf courses within 1 hour of the guest house with Carrbridge and Boat of Garten less than 30 minutes away. We are happy to welcome your children over 5 years of age - sorry no infants under 5.

Foyers House - High above Loch Ness, with spectacular panoramic views over the loch, this Highland bed and breakfast offers a peaceful, child-free environment in which to relax and unwind. At Upper Foyers, next to the waterfall, Foyers House is on the quiet south side of Loch Ness. There are 8 individually styled bedrooms, seven with magnificent views over the loch, along with one standard single bedroom with a woodland view. Free Wi-Fi is available in some rooms. The terrace is the highest viewpoint in the great glen and you can enjoy a drink while watching the sun set over the mountain or have a whisky in the lounge. Fly-fishing for salmon or trout on Loch Ness and the River Oich can be arranged, with a ghillie, a boat and all tackle provided. Pub food is available 4 miles (6.4 km) away, in the direction of Fort Augustus, as well as 9 miles (14.5 km) towards Inverness.

The Ferry Inn - The last hotel on the A9, The Ferry Inn at Scrabster is newly renovated and has wonderful sea views. Just north of Thurso, Scrabster Harbour is the gateway to the Orkney Islands. The renowned restaurant, The Upperdeck, has a fantastic steakhouse and also specialises in locally caught seafood. The lively Popeye's is a public bar with a wide-screen TV showing sporting events. The en suite bedrooms have tea/coffee facilities and flat-screen TVs with Freeview channels.

Campfield House - Perfectly situated on the shores of Loch Linnhe, Campfield House is a friendly, family- run bed and breakfast, 3 miles (4.8 km) from Fort William. All comfortable rooms have en suite facilities and a Freeview TV. Some rooms have stunning views over the loch. An inclusive full English breakfast is also provided.
