The Loch Leven Hotel - With a beautiful loch-side setting and dramatic views of the mountains, this family-run hotel offers free Wi-Fi and charming accommodation, great for a relaxing break or an activity holiday. In one of the most spectacular, naturally beautiful regions of Scotland, the Loch Leven Hotel is a traditional Scottish Highlands hotel near Glencoe, Ballachulish, Fort William and Ben Nevis. The hotel was originally established in the 17th century as a coaching inn and ferry terminal for the Ballachulish Ferry (when this was merely a small rowboat). Since taking over in December 1999, your hosts, Hilary and her partner John, have sympathetically modernised and completely refurbished the hotel. All of the comfortable and attractive en suite rooms are individually decorated. All rooms have TVs, telephones, tea/coffee making facilities and hairdryers. With spectacular views over the streams to the mountains beyond, the bar and restaurant offer home-cooked meals, made with superb local produce.

The Bridge Hotel - Situated in the heart of a picturesque Highland village on the east coast of Scotland, this contemporary country hotel rejects modern day distractions in favour of a haven of peace. In an effort to keep alive what this region stands for, the hotel has invested in natural history and art, and retains much of its original charm, including the woodwork and panelling which glow with the warmth of open log fires. With no TVs and telephones in the rooms, you can absorb the peace and quiet. Built in 1816, the Bridge Hotel is steeped in history and tradition, with the famous Helmsdale River running right past it. Served by 2 airports - Inverness and Wick - it is conveniently situated on the main axis between Inverness, Thurso and John O'Groats, the most northern point of mainland Scotland, and a perfect base for exploring the wonders of the Highlands.
