    Local Area

Rich, luscious countryside and glorious long sandy beaches, superlative golf courses and an exciting, vibrant city - enjoy all this and so much more when you holiday in Ayrshire. Birthplace of Open Golf, and home to championship courses at Troon and Turnberry, this is a golfers’ paradise, but there’s something for everyone taking caravan holidays in Ayrshire.Steeped in the history of great Scottish heroes, this is also Burns Country - head to the Burns National Heritage Park to see the little thatched 'But and Ben’ where Scotland’s national bard was born and brought up. The Museum of Ayrshire Country Life and Costume at Dalgarven Mill also makes a fascinating trip as does magnificent Culzean Castle. Designed by Robert Adams, it sits within glorious grounds on a cliff top overlooking the Clyde.

Duck Pond Cottage is a delightful place to stay. It has everything one could want and is maintained to a very high standard. The estate grounds are a delight to walk around, with evening strolls along the riverside. We spent an extremely peaceful and relaxing holiday here and would definitely return.

As soon as we arrived we were blown away with the quality of accommodation, the scenery and surroundings, and the abundant wildlife! Every need was catered for ??? we even had a BBQ which was used every night as the weather was glorious. The Loft Studio was a great place to stay with the added bonus of a quirky spiral staircase and a very large, very comfortable bed! A very idyllic setting with lovely walks around the castle grounds. The perfect place for total rest and relaxation. Marilyn and her husband made us feel very welcome indeed - we had a fantastic week and hope to visit again soon!

My wife and I have just returned from a 4 day break at Cloncaird Castle in the Loft Studio, and we were absolutely thrilled at the accommodation standard and the Estate. Everything was brilliant, the setting, the cleanliness, all the furnishings were top class, we were short of absolutely nothing during our stay. A more peaceful break we could not have wished for. We will certainly return as soon as possible - thank you Conclaird staff and Estate.

I stayed here for 3 nights with my boyfriend in the loft studio. It was more spacious than we thought it would be and the bed is so comfy you won't want to get up in the morning. We had a problem with the heating on the first night and they offered to put us in other accoMmodation but we were so happy with our place we decided to stay. The next morning they had a plumber out fixing it for us - This is what you call top class service. A highly recommended quiet getaway!
